Building & Development Permits
Residential and commercial building permits, grading and encroachment permits, and related inspections are issued by the Department of Community Development. Applications may be started at City Hall or through the online permit portal. Plan review timelines vary with project scope; counter service is available for over-the-counter permits such as water heaters, re-roofs, and minor electrical work.
Business Licenses
All businesses operating within city limits require a current business license, renewed annually. Home-based businesses, contractors, and mobile vendors each have their own application track. New businesses are encouraged to confirm zoning and use requirements before signing a lease.
Special Districts & FlyForward
Projects within the airport overlay district or tied to the FlyForward initiative may have additional review requirements. Applicants working on clean-energy infrastructure should flag their project at intake so it can be routed appropriately.
